Tart & Crisp Cucumber Ginger Gin Fizz
I recently discovered a brand new Cucumber Ginger Gin cocktail that I’m excited to serve up at our next gathering!
I saw this recipe on Pinterest, and as a gin lover I had to try it out – plus, how gorgeous is this shade of green? It tastes just as refreshing as it looks. The cucumber makes it cool and crisp, the lime gives it a tart kick, and the ginger syrup gives it just the perfect dose of sweetness. Serve it in retro-looking glasses, with a spherical ice cube - I got my ice cube moulds on Amazon. See how to make this simple recipe below, and let me know what you think. Cheers!
Ginger Simple Syrup
Ingredients:
230ml water
160g sugar
110g ginger, peeled and chopped
Add sugar and water to a pot and bring to a boil. Once the sugar is added, take off the heat. Add the ginger and let seep for 2 hours. Strain the mixture through a strainer and refrigerate the remaining syrup. (This syrup lasts up to one month in the fridge, so you can have it on hand for making more cocktails!).
Cocktail Ingredients:
110ml fresh cucumber juice
110ml gin
110ml ginger simple syrup
110ml fresh lime juice
club soda
I made the cucumber juice by using about 4 inches of fresh cucumber and selecting the “whole juice” setting on my Nutribullet, then I strained the mixture into a bowl. Mix juices, syrup and gin in a shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 20 seconds. Top off each glass with club soda, and an ice sphere, and garnish with cucumber.
